Extra Inning Walk Off Hit Gives Knights Series Over LCU

Northwood first baseman, Adam Humes' extra inning single scoring Austin Atwell gave the Knights the three game series 2-1 Saturday afternoon at Knight's Field.
Northwood dropped game one of the series Friday afternoon by a score of 10-8. The disappointing loss saw LCU score 7 runs in the eighth inning. NU rallied in the 9th bringing the tying run to the plate but couldn't push the final 2 across. In the game senior, Edwin Arroyo, lacked a single for the cycle.
Game 2 saw freshman righty, Clayton Woodruff, hold the Chaps offense down as he went 5 strong. After a shaky first that surrendered 3 runs Woodruff was able to hold LCU to just one more over the next 4 innings. Nick Harrison pitched a scoreless 6th and Colton Reavis earned his first save of the year in the 7th.
Game 3 was a back and forth thriller as both teams had opportunities to put the game away. The final blow came in the bottom of the eighth as Adam Humes knocked in the winning run with a 2 strike 2 out single that scored Atwell from second on a play at the plate.
The Knights are back in action Tuesday as they travel to Bethany, Oklahoma to take on Southern Nazarene.
