Sunday, Knights right-hander, Josh Matthews threw a complete game vs the Geneva Red Wings of the New York Collegiate League. Matthews did not allow an earned run while striking out five Red Wings.
Through 25 innings of work, Matthews is 2-2 with a 1.8 earned run average. Matthews was 5-0 with 40 innings pitched in his sophomore campaign with the Knights.
Playing alongside Matthews this summer is Knight teamate and fellow pitcher, Garret Randle. Randle is having a good summer with a 1.17 ERA through 15 innings of work. Opposing hitters have managed a .137 batting average against Garret.
